George White’s career has been focused on working with stakeholders in the infrastructure and construction industries to bring technology to the forefront in their operations. During his tenure at Pavia Systems, he has managed diverse teams and overseen numerous technology projects for customers ranging from Fortune 500 organizations to the federal government. George is recognized as an innovator in the transportation construction industry and provides over 10 years of management experience and more than 15 years of industry knowledge and connections to the company. He was responsible for the development of the Hot Mix Database, a web-based tool used to track and monitor asphalt road construction projects that received the TRB K.B. Woods Award, a top award for construction innovations, and Pavement Interactive, the world’s largest online resource for all things pavement. George currently serves on an industry-leading technical steering committee alongside members of state and federal government, private sector, and academia. He has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington.

Si Katara provides 15 years of professional software experience, technical expertise, and management experience to Pavia Systems. He has an exceptional track record for delivering large-scale software systems on-time and on-budget reliably throughout his career. Si served as the lead for the HeadLight product, driving its evolution from research to deployment. His experience includes customer requirements gathering, software architecture, product management, resource management, field support, and end-to-end execution to secure HeadLight’s first statewide customer. Si’s ability to communicate effectively, manage multiple resources, analyze design requirements, architect complex software systems, and understand transportation-related domain issues makes him well-suited to lead at Pavia Systems. He has delivered a wide range of end products, all sharing the common characteristics of being reliable, efficient, and intuitive systems that provide exceptional value to end users. Si gained project enterprise software experience with Andiamo Systems, Cisco Systems, and Real Networks, companies whose primary function is content delivery via the web and network infrastructure, after earning a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Washington.

Steven Velozo has extensive experience in data research, application architecture, and software engineering. As Chief Architect at Promethean, Inc., a publicly traded company, he managed a diverse software development team spread across two continents. Steven has founded several successful companies delivering groundbreaking data analytics applications. Holding six patents ranging from large data processing environments through augmented reality machine learning systems, he brings two decades of senior leadership experience blended with a diverse and current software engineering skill set.

Beth has over 17 years experience solving the people side of technology business challenges, such as: how to provide a stellar customer experience, drive adoption, reduce churn, increase MRR/ACV, and grow the partner ecosystem. She specializes in helping emergent SaaS businesses build customer and partner success programs that enable people, and companies, to succeed with SaaS.

Prior to Pavia, Beth was the VP of Customer Success with VMG, a consulting business focused on professional services for cloud companies. Acquired by Appirio, a cloud SI, Beth then helped define and lead their customer success/user adoption practice for Salesforce and Google implementations. Beth has provided strategic consulting services to technology companies such as Apple, Salesforce, Autodesk, Microsoft, Twilio and Jive, as well as many small, fast-growing SaaS businesses.

Throughout her career, Beth has also authored a number of blog posts on topics across technology, SaaS, and user adoption themes, including “10 Ways to Drive Cloud Adoption” (Part 1 and Part 2), and a three-part series on “The Secrets of SaaS Training: Design, Delivery, and Monetization”.

Mychal joins Pavia with over 30 years of construction experience uniquely split between working for construction contractors and developing construction software. Mychal brings to Pavia experience working in heavy civil construction in the area of project controls – CPM scheduling, job cost analysis, claims and change order negotiation, etc. In the software arena, he was the President of a major ERP system design for heavy civil contractors and home builders. In addition, he founded and created the first truly cloud-based CPM construction software designed for the construction industry.

Phil Sabin is a proven executive with over 25 years of experience in finance and operations at fast growth startups and large corporations. He has extensive experience in technology companies, including Internet, online advertising, business intelligence, and big data hosted (SaaS) business models. Phil began his career working in the finance departments of several banks, and went on to work as a controller, financial systems manager, and VP of Finance at multiple companies, including Revenue Science (Digimine), Amazon.com, and Blue Kai. He enjoys working with startups, including setting up accounting departments/processes, raising capital, and providing guidance for business decision-making based on practical financial models. Phil is a former Washington state CPA and holds a B.A. in business with an accounting concentration from the University of Washington. In his free time, he loves to be outdoors hiking, bicycling, and riding his Harley.

Chad Robins is the co-founder, CEO, and President of Adaptive Biotechnologies Corporation, a revenue-stage company leveraging the advances in next-generation sequencing technology to profile the adaptive immune system. Adaptive has raised over $400 million to date. Chad has extensive finance and operations experience and has held executive-level roles in a variety of fields, including healthcare, investment banking, and real estate. He has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from Cornell University.

Dr. Joe Mahoney has worked in designing, constructing, and maintaining heavy infrastructure for over 40 years. He teaches undergraduate- and graduate-level courses on a range of subjects, including construction materials, pavement and airport design, construction-oriented statistical applications, and energy infrastructure. Joe is currently the Director of the Transportation and Construction Program and co-Director of the Distance Learning Masters of Construction Engineering. He is also an International Fellow at CSIR—Pretoria, South Africa, and serves on various national committees mostly associated with the Transportation Research Board.

Dr. Stephen Muench is an Associate Professor in the University of Washington’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Founding Director of Greenroads®. He is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in engineering-related self-directed learning and usability of web-based educational materials. Steve has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including the White House Champions of Change Honors for his work with Greenroads. He has been a faculty member at the University of Washington since 2004 and the holder of the Tom and Marilyn Draeger | The Beavers Charitable Trust professorship since 2011. Previously, Steve was a transportation design engineer at Perteet, Inc. and a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.
